I offer one-hour private sessions online or by phone. Your sessions are held in private, and your information is secured and safe per legal and regulatory standards. Clients will receive “homework” and other materials via email that can be done prior to sessions as well as material that will be done together in the split-screen format in your online sessions. Join me from your living room, backyard, or car (not while driving). Wherever you feel safe and comfortable connecting from is where we can virtually meet.
Grab your laptop, phone, or tablet and together we will work on your road to recovery with: addiction counselling, treatment planning, relapse prevention planning, addiction-related case management, medication-assisted treatment, and referrals to social services, health practitioners, and MAT clinics and doctors. I also offer one-time or ongoing psycho-educational sessions for individuals, couples, and family members.
Recovery can be scary, but not recovering can be worse. Let’s chat and discuss what recovery looks like for you and how we get there. If you’re looking for a counsellor and ally, let’s connect.

Are you a social services agency, non-profit, criminal or family legal service provider, or other agency working with those with alcohol or substance use disorder? Wait times for counselling and addiction recovery services for clients can be lengthy and often detour individuals from receiving treatment when it’s needed most. Having worked in a managed alcohol program and open custody homes for youth, I understand that clients need help when they need help, not when “we have a spot for them”. I offer individual one-on-one and group counselling sessions, and psycho-educational programs for staff and/or clients. These can be done in your facility on yours and your client’s times to meet the needs of everyone involved, or online. Let’s work together to get your clients the care they need and deserve.

Sometimes one-on-one counselling can seem intimidating and more formal or “serious” to an individual who isn’t quite ready to take that plunge. Some individuals may want to do a mix of private sessions and group work. Having spent years developing and facilitating groups, I’ve seen the benefits that groups bring to those in recovery. Group settings can provide a sense of community and help individuals grow together and build confidence and support. Sharing amongst others experiencing similar difficulties can help us learn to be more kind to ourselves and others while we uncover blind spots about ourselves. Recovery group members motivate each other and look forward to sharing goals and problem-solving together. Groups also provide a safe space for those battling addiction by lessening the feelings of isolation, fear, and being judged by others while sharing their stories.

Do you or your agency need someone with lived experience who works in the addiction field to do persuasive speaking or writing about addiction and recovery? Maybe you want to lobby or apply for addiction-related funding and want input to help get a point across from someone experienced working in and with individuals receiving treatment in the community.
I have published addiction-related pieces in local newspapers, spoken and lobbied for addiction-related services nation wide and in the community ( such as lobbying for local police to carry Naloxone), and often meet with politicians and other important decision-makers to discuss addiction related topics. I am a fierce advocate for individuals with mental health and addiction issues, and those in recovery.
If you are looking for an experienced, articulate professional to help you deliver your message, apply for grants, or get your and your company’s addiction-related goals met, contact me to discuss how I can assist you.
